For many of us, things have slowed down in these uncertain times. And that’s true for me too. There’s not too much in the shop right now–finishing up some branding work and teaching classes at the community college—suddenly online which I’ll save for another post–and there’s always the upkeep and self-marketing associated with running a business, so there is plenty to keep me occupied ’till mid-May.
After that, who knows… there’s nothing in the queue.
But I refuse to worry. I choose to be happy. And it works! The trick is to focus on the blessings all around and stay in the moment.
This. Very. Moment.
No doubt this is an unprecedented crisis that first we must get through. Seriously, there’s an awful, deadly virus out there, and survival is the first and most important order of business. Not having work won’t matter much if I’m not here to do it.
Not to be morbid… but I’m realistic. It does no good to think too far ahead. There’s no telling what next week will bring, or even next month. And there’s no reason to believe it will all be bad. Good is still in this world. Blessings abound. Positive things can still occur amid this pandemic. And if misfortune strikes, we have to trust in our resiliency to deal with whatever comes. When it comes. NOT before.
Instead, I like to think of all I’ve got. I’m healthy and decently situated for the time being. I have food and toilet paper, spring is here, my puppy is loving the additional attention and my husband and I are sharing some wonderful home cooked meals. There have been lots of silver linings in the few weeks I’ve been sequestered. So, there’s no complaints from this quarter. In fact, I’m having a pretty good time and have so much to be thankful for.
